Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children opens regional office at Dubai Healthcare City

One of the world's best-known hospitals specializing in child healthcare has announced plans to open its Regional Office at Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).
The Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust (GOSH) delegation is headed by Dr Jane Collins, Chief Executive Officer and includes Trevor Clarke, Deputy Chief Executive; Sven Bunn, General Manager Diagnostics & Therapeutics; and Denise McCormack, General Manager of the Gulf Office.
"As a dedicated healthcare service provider, GOSH is recognized as one of the few truly top class centers of excellence in pediatric healthcare services treating children from all over the world, suffering from the most complicated conditions. We always look for an innovative approach that will become the finest benchmark in pediatric care," said Dr, Collins, the GOSH Chief Executive Officer.
"The vision of DHCC which aims at becoming the globally acknowledged location of choice for healthcare and establishing Dubai as the regional hub for healthcare complements our goals in becoming an industry leader in providing healthcare services in the region," she added.
Denise McCormack, General Manager of the Gulf regional facility explained that "with the Institute of Child Health we form the biggest centre for research into childhood illness in the world, and we are a major centre for education and training for children's specialists. The Institute is one of the top four clinical research institutions in the UK according to independent assessment."
"We have been looking to offer our services in the Gulf and the Middle East, but we wanted to have the right partner, and now that we are at Dubai Healthcare City, our long term aim is to explore the potential for partnership with other medical institutions to provide our services locally," she added
Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital is renowned for innovative and latest developments in healthcare and has the widest range of children's clinical specialists in the UK. It is also the largest centre for heart and brain surgery in the UK; runs the largest paediatric intensive care unit; and is the largest centre for children with cancer. Innovations include being the only UK center delivering clinical cures for children with immune disorders using gene therapy, and the only centre in the world to have a track record in non-surgical replacement of pulmonary artery valves.
