Oman set for further success

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world's largest hotel operator, announced today that Pauline Bergé has been appointed as Area Director of Sales and Marketing in Oman.

With a proven track record of success, the Dutch professional - who has a wealth of business experience in the Middle East - has moved into the role from her previous position as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Crowne Plaza in Oman.

Understanding how to drive InterContinental Hotels Group's business further in Oman, Bergé, who is fluent in Dutch, English, French and German, aims to enhance the company's operations in the beautiful Gulf country overseeing all sales and marketing activities for the Group's five properties in Oman.

Having witnessed Bergé's achievements firsthand, Denis Johnson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, InterContinental Hotels Group, Middle East and Africa, said:

"Pauline has proven herself to be an innovative and dedicated operator. During her time at the Crowne Plaza in Oman she contributed to the successful repositioning of the hotel from a four-star deluxe to a five-star-like hotel, along with taking a leadership role in the property's new Crowne Plaza Club Floor launch. We are confident that with her solid grasp on business in Oman she proves a great success in this new role."

With an MBA in Business Administration, IMCA, from the UK and a Bachelors Degree in Hotel Management from Les Roches in Switzerland, Bergé who has worked in various sectors of the hospitality industry over the past 15 years has also had professional roles in Europe and the U.S.

"Oman is a beautiful country to live in and I have enjoyed every moment at the Crowne Plaza but am thrilled to have been promoted to this new role. Taking on the new challenge will provide me with the opportunity to further build InterContinental Hotels Group's success in Oman," said Bergé.
