Tanmia conducts specialised secretarial training program for 20 UAE Nationals with the support of Roadstead General Contracting

The National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia), recently held a graduation ceremony for 20 UAE National jobseekers who attended a secretarial training program conducted by Tanmia, with the support of Roadstead General Contracting.

The training program was conducted in the facilities of Dubai Police.

Engineer Salem Sultan, Board Member, Roadstead General Contracting, said,
"UAE Nationals have shown that they have the potential to excel in every field of work. By providing required training in basic communication and IT skills these individuals can explore new avenues in the job market and enhance their career path. We are committed to support the Emiratisation efforts of Tanmia, which have created numerous job opportunities for UAE Nationals."


"Tanmia is glad that several companies from the private sector are coming forward to support our training programs for National job seekers," said Essa Al Zaabi, Manager of Dubai Office, Tanmia. "The importance of secretarial training has amplified today, with the increased reliance on technology based communication tools. The computerization of the office environment has resulted in wider roles for secretaries, given the increasing responsibility and autonomy. Secretaries are now expected to have higher skill levels, and this training program was conducted in line with the latest trends in the job market."

Roadstead General Contracting is a Dubai based contracting company specialised in roads and earth moving projects. The company has been involved in several prestigious projects in the UAE, including The Palm Jumeriah and The Palm Jebel Ali projects.

About Tanmia:
Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market. The responsibilities that rest with the Authority are: to set up the overall policy of the Authority and supervise its implementation, conduct sustained operational and administrative labour market studies and analysis, provide career counseling and guidance to the national work force, follow-up and evaluate employment of nationals in public and private sectors, support small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources and develop programmes for training and qualifying nationals seeking employment, in conformity with the labour market needs.
