Emirates Post has appointed Streamline Marketing, a Dubai-based group specializing in turnkey management of international events, to manage the organization of the 2006 UPU Strategy Conference which will be held in Dubai from November 14 to 16, 2006.

An agreement to this effect was signed by Mr. Abdulla Ibrahim Al Daboos, Director General of Emirates Post, and Mr. Nick Webb, Director, Streamline Marketing, at Emirates Post headquarters. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Abdullah Al Fan, Assistant Director General, Development & Marketing, Emirates Post, and Rory McRae, General Manager, Streamline Marketing.

"The selection of the UAE as the venue for the major UPU conference imposes great responsibility on Emirates Post as the event involves catering to the multiple requirements of over 800 delegates from 130 countries,"

said Mr. Al Daboos. "We selected Streamline Marketing because they have the expertise in turnkey management of such events."

"Streamline Marketing Group is very pleased to be appointed to manage this prestigious event. The selection of Dubai as the host for the Strategy Conference by the United Nations agency further underlies Dubai's reputation as a key business destination," said Nick Webb, Director, Streamline Marketing Group.

Streamline Marketing will be providing support to Emirates Post in hosting the major event. Its responsibilities will include event management, handling the requirements of the actual conference, coordination at the venue, managing the technical aspects and handling the official functions.

This is the first time that the UPU Strategy Conference is being held outside Switzerland. The event takes stock of the progress achieved in meeting the objectives of the World Postal Strategy adopted at the previous Congress and charts the direction for Posts until the next Congress, which will be held in Nairobi in 2008.
