The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) was established in 1994 to enable members to obtain guidance and support from fellow business continuity practitioners. Through its Certification Scheme, the institute provides internationally recognised status to its members as professional membership of the BCI demonstrates the members' competence to carry out business continuity management (BCM) to a consistent high standard.
"The wider role of the BCI is to promote the highest standards of professional competence and commercial ethics in the provision and maintenance of business continuity planning and services",says Steve Mellish who is also the Head of Business Continuity of Sainsbury Supermarkets in the UK and was awarded the "Business Continuity Manager of the Year 2005" award in May 2005.
"We are honoured to have the BCI participate in this event, which is a first for the Middle East" mentioned Agata Pawlik, IIR Conference Director. "Their status as the promoters of best practice continuity planning and management as well as an independent and unbiased organisation in this field is a great addition to the programme".
The ERM & BC Summit is the largest regional conference dedicated to enterprise risk management, business continuity management and disaster recovery. The event will meet the strategic needs of business executives and technology decision makers, as well as those of tactical solution managers and professional implementers.
