UAE MICE sector to benefit from launch of EMS' new services

With Dubai and Sharjah together organizing over 100 exhibitions and several important international events every year, the UAE is now identified as a major regional hub for the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) sector.

Last year, the exhibitions industry generated USD $ 1.5 billion of Dubai's total GDP. Whereas in Sharjah, the exhibitions, hospitality and tourism sector earned Dh150 million in revenues and achieved a 25 per cent growth during this period.

Overall, the MICE sector has become an inseparable component of UAE's economy.

However, despite the sector's significant growth over the last few years, there are few Public Relations and Advertising companies in the country that can claim to exclusively cater to the needs of the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions industry.

To fill in this void, Expo Marketing Services (EMS), the creative arm of Expo Centre Sharjah, will be launching its Public Relations, Advertising, and Direct Marketing services at the Marketing and Media Show scheduled at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from November 7-9, 2005.

"Our strength lays in the fact that we have till now catered exclusively to the needs of the booming exhibitions industry in the region. This exclusivity will go a long way in helping us establish a niche in the industry. This however doesn't mean that we will not be tapping other sectors," said Mr. Saif M. Al Midfa, Manager - Expo Marketing Services (EMS) - Expo Centre Sharjah.

Among the services that EMS would be providing to its outside clients are Direct Marketing including Mail shots, E-mail shots, Fax shots, UAE and Middle East database rental and SMS campaign; Advertising including Web designing, Desktop designing, Printing services, and Ad and brochure design; and Press and PR including Press Releases, organizing Press Conferences, Public relation services, Ad copies for print, radio and websites, Sales and product copies, and Editing and proof reading.

"EMS can claim to have some of the best manpower in terms of Strategy specialists, Creative directors, Copywriters, Media planners, and Programmers, and solid sound infrastructure," said Mr. Saif M. Al Midfa.

EMS is fully backed by Expo Centre Sharjah (ECS), the exhibition wing of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). ECS was set up in 1977 and is the first-established Trade Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates. In these 28 years, it has been the most popular trade exhibition venue and home of the Gulf's best attended trade shows.
