These young local talents are following marketing and communications curriculums at local universities. "Initiatives like this one where we support and sustain the transfer of knowledge perfectly fit our policy", said Louis Hakim, Philips CEO, Middle East.
"Through this type of social investments we continue our tradition of supporting the communities we live in. And with social responsibility, we put people at the center."
Philips has always been active in the community, supporting initiative to improve people's lives. In 2004, Philips funded more than 200 social investment projects in 47 countries. About 75% of the projects fell within the two areas that Philips focuses on the most-providing access to education and healthcare particularly for the underprivileged.
"Sustainability is built into our heritage, our values and our commitment to improve the quality of people's lives," added Hakim. "We integrate economic prosperity, environmental quality and social equity - balancing these sometimes-competing demands".
