H@ckers beware

32Group and Dubai Informatics Computer Center; a provider of IT education in Dubai will be hosting the first H@cker Halted conference in the Middle East.

H@cker Halted 2005 Dubai, a series of IT security programs, seminars and demonstrations by renowned companies and speakers will bring high-tech, cutting edge knowledge to the burgeoning IT industries of the Middle East and promises to be a landmark event in IT and cyber security for the region.

The problem of IT security has been well documented in recent times and the Middle East has not been left unscathed; from home users to sophisticated top end users, everyone is being affected. Dubai Attorney General Ibrahim Bu Melha commented, "there are no specific laws in the country governing computer hacking and It has become urgent to issue legislation which classifies high technology crimes and stipulates penalties for them. These issues plus the most recent breakthroughs in computer security will be presented in this 'one-stop' conference."

H@cker Halted conferences started in 2004 and has so far been held in Malaysia, Taiwan, Mexico, Singapore and will shortly arrive in the Middle East with H@cker Halted 2005 Dubai. Guest speakers from the FBI, US Army Military Intelligence Corps., the EC-Council and many other high profile organisations will host programs and seminars on; Network Security, Ethical Hacking, Forensics and Cyber Law.
"The chance to hold H@cker Halted in the Middle East is something that we have been planning for a long time. Dubai is a great city that is growing so rapidly and with so much gusto that it has taken the world by surprise.

"The responsibility of protecting this fantastic infrastructure and the multitude of companies and organisation locating there will now be something available to everyone. This is something that we must take seriously and something that cannot wait," said Mr. Sanjay Bavisi, EC-Council Vice President. "We are sure that this conference will aid Dubai and the GCC countries with the knowledge and the IT solutions to move forward with confidence."

Mr. Amir Pishyar, Vice-President of 32Group and Director of Informatics Dubai added, "We are very excited to be the first GCC country to be holding such a high-profile event. We are looking forward to welcoming the world's highest profile security experts to Dubai. Our goal is to provide the most practical and advanced security for the good of tomorrow as well as building a platform for a new UAE cyber law."

The event will take place in The Godolphin Ballroom, Emirates Tower Hotel, Dubai on 14th and 15th November 2005 from 9:00-5:00pm.
There are currently some excellent packages available for conference attendees and students though seats are limited.
