Nissan CEO receives award from Tokyo International Automotive Conference

The Tokyo International Automotive Conference awarded Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan and Renault, the prestigious Athena award in Tokyo, recognizing Ghosn's efforts in 'contributing the most to the expansion of the auto industry and society's robust development'.

The award is only given every two years by the Tokyo International Automotive Conference for outstanding achievements in the automotive industry.

The award is named after the Greek symbol for wisdom and Peace and Ghosn focused on this in his acceptance speech and the need for tolerance and inclusion in today's socio-economic world.

"The award ceremony was followed by a lively question and answer session that covered hot topics such as oil economics, the environment and future growth of car markets around the globe, demonstrating Nissan's vision towards all these issues,"


noted Monal Zeidan, Corporate Communications Manager, Nissan Middle East.

Carlos Ghosn is the president and chief executive officer of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Renault S.A., an alliance with a combined annual global sale of 5.7 million vehicles and over 80 billion dollars in revenue.
