The judging panel comprised representatives of 50 top photo, video, audio, home theatre and mobile electronics magazines from over 18 European countries.
To select the winning products, the judges look for a range of features from the nominated products, and consider those products that deliver the most to the customer. Ease of use, style, value for money and up-to-the-minute technology are all features that the judges consider when making their decision.
The Stylus Photo R2400 was awarded European Printer of the Year 2005-2006 for its quality of output. The judges said, "Epson's Stylus Photo R2400 demands the attention of professionals and advanced enthusiasts seeking the highest standards of A3+ printing. This model's eight-cartridge K3 Ultrachrome system (including three blacks) provides an extraordinarily wide colour gamut, not only guaranteeing deep, saturated colours, but also improved black-and-white prints. Epson's Micro Piezo print technology, with 3 picolitre droplets, creates extremely detailed prints at resolutions up to 5760x1440 dpi - making the R2400 suitable even for fine art work."
Winning European Multimedia Storage Viewer of the Year 2005-2006, the P2000 also made an impression on the judges. They said, "The Epson P-2000 describes itself as a multimedia storage viewer, but owners will swiftly start considering it their own personal cinema. This model has an extraordinarily bright, high-contrast 3.8-inch LCD screen with VGA (640x480 pixels) resolution and a generous viewing angle. The built-in 40 Gb hard-disk stores and plays audio (MP3/AAC), video (Motion JPEG/MPE4) and still images (JPEG, TIFF and RAW) downloaded via built-in SD and CompactFlash slots. The P-2000 also enables direct printing onto compatible printers and can display content on TV."
Khalil El Dalu, General Manager, Epson Middle East said,
"We are thrilled that Epson products have been recognised by EISA. Epson places a great deal of value in these awards, since the judges are all experts in their fields, coming from top magazines throughout Europe. We hope that next year's awards will be as successful and that the effort Epson puts into bringing great solutions to its customers continues to be recognised".
