ICICKM 2005 is the second year of this Conference - the First International Conference on Intellectual Capital and Knowledge Management was held in Toronto, Canada last year. In 2006 this Conference will be held in Santiago de Chile and in 2007 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The ICICKM 2005 will attract about 100 researchers and practitioners from around the world who will hear leading edge thinking from international researchers and speakers of top notch caliber. In addition to the number of researchers from the Arab world, there will be reports on work from the UK, South Africa, Germany, USA, India and Sweden, to name only a few countries represented.
Dr. Lance de Masi, President of AUD, said:
'This is a significant event that provides an opportunity for academics and practitioners who are involved in the management, development and implementation of knowledge initiatives to come together and exchange ideas. It also reflects the multicultural environment that the AUD has stood for since its inception, helping to reduce the East-West divide that is receiving so much hype these days.'
The Conference is chaired jointly by Doctor Yousif Asfour formerly chair of IT Department at AUD, and Doctor Jamal El-Den of the American University in Beirut. During this conference around 50 research papers will be presented on a wide range of topics dealing with intellectual capital and knowledge management.
Professor Dan Remenyi of Trinity College Dublin is the Program Chair responsible for the academic content in the papers presented and Mr. Joseph Hanania, Managing Director, HP Middle East, will be delivering the key note address.
'All research papers have been reviewed by the double blind review process to ensure quality and relevance to the conference themes, ensuring the highest standards for the conference attendees and the most up-to-date topics of concern to the academics and practitioners', commented Professor Dan Remenyi, Program Chair, Trinity College Dublin.
One of the highlights of the Conference is a knowledge café which allows participants to both network with each other and share ideas on a number of subjects. This technique has proven very popular at Conferences and it may easily be adapted by conference participants for use in their own environments or institutions.
ICICKM 2005 is open to anyone from business and commercial executives as well as consultants, vendors and others who wish to hear the latest thinking in intellectual capital and knowledge management.
