Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager of Etisalat Academy, said: “The Academy’s initiative to organize this conference is part of its strategy to draw attention to the latest developments in the field of telecommunication in the world”.

He noted that the liberalisation of the telecommunication market has provided unlimited opportunities to the incumbent and new operators worldwide. Focus is shifting to increase revenues while at the same time to reduce expenses. Broadband technologies are one of the major initiatives as they can provide all present and future services on a single platform.

He said:

“Our aim is to explain and highlight technical and business issues related to broadband, therefore we are pleased to announce this conference.”

According to Dr. Doaa, various topics will be addressed during the two days conference including the current status of broadband, technologies and services of broadband networks.

The conference will focus on emerging technologies, marketing strategies and the future vision of what lies beyond broadband.

Industry leaders and operators like Motorola, Lucent Technology, Huawei, Ericsson and Alcatel, will share their experiences in technologies and services to date.

Speaking about the importance of the conference, Ali Amer, Director of Sales in the Middle East, North and French Africa Region, Motorola Networks, said: “We would like to congratulate Etisalat Academy on holding this conference, one of the first of its kind in the region to focus on Next Generation Networks and WiMAX. As the demand for broadband services grows worldwide, it is essential that key players in the regional telecommunications sector remain informed about emerging technologies in the broadband arena. Motorola’s participation in the Broadband & Beyond conference provides us the ideal opportunity to showcase our innovative communications solutions, while highlighting Motorola’s leadership position in WiMAX and Next Generation Networks.”
