Manufacturing to go high tech

Dubai's manufacturing sector had absorbed $7.12bn worth of investment as of January 2005, with production reaching $681bn, according to a report by the Department of Economic Development. The study also outlined industry policy for the emirate, which is based on a shift from labour-intensive, low technology industries to capital intensive, advanced technology industries by 2010.
