New Zealand's Massey University lauds e-TQM College for its unique history and achievements

COER found it remarkable that e-TQM College was an initiative by the Dubai Police and added that this, however, was only in keeping with the fact that incorporation of the principles of TQM had become standard practice within Dubai's institutions. Lauding the college, COER said in the 5th issue of its newsletter, COER News, "e-TQM College was the brain-child of the leadership of Dubai Police. This in itself would be remarkable in other countries but it is just typical of how in Dubai TQM and innovation is becoming the norm within all institutions."

The newsletter further said, "e-TQM College's progress is the result of an inspirational public-private sector partnership and the government's unwavering determination to be a model business and leisure destination. The college's steadfast dedication to provide education for all levels of capability, together with its commitment to e-learning and the latest technology to give students the best education experience, make it a truly unique institution."

COER is an internationally reputed body dedicated to integrating innovative initiatives that focus on benchmarking, best practices and organisational excellence, with the ultimate objective of helping organisations to significantly improve their business performance.

e-TQM College has of late been gaining worldwide recognition. Dr. Al Awar recently became the first UAE National to be named lead assessor by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) after successfully completing the European Assessor Test. Prof. Mohammed Zairi, Assistant Vice President, Academic Affairs, e-TQM College was awarded the 2005 Harrington/Ishikawa Medal, while Prof. Yoshio Kondo, e-TQM College Advisory Board Member, was named the 23rd Honorary Member of the prestigious American Society for Quality. In addition, Prof. Jens J. Dahlgaard, also an Advisory Board Member, was awarded the Lancaster Medal.
