Batelco participates in a world multi-stakeholder ICT exhibition

Batelco, is participating in 'The ICT 4 all Exhibition' due to be held in Tunis, Tunisia at the Karam Park Exhibition Centre, which is running along side the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) UN Summit during the period 15th - 19th November 2005.

Batelco, being the sole sponsor of the Kingdom of Bahrain pavilion, will be sending a delegation of 8 members to attend and participate in the exhibition and summit.

The ICT 4 all Exhibition, which is a unique multi-stakeholder event dedicated to advancing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for all around the world, is organised by the World Summit on the Information Society Organisation Committee (COSMSI), based in Tunis, Tunisia.

The summit and exhibition is an attempt to bridge the digital divide between developing and developed countries that deprives millions of people around the globe form access and effective use of ICT for development. This right for all has become more importunate with the convergence between the Internet, broadcast media and ICT that it increasingly affecting all aspects of peoples' life; especially in the less developed countries.

'We are delighted to contribute to the efforts of the global knowledge economy aimed at offering opportunities to all people in the world to harness the benefits of the 21st century information technology revolution,'



says Peter Kaliaropoulos, Chief Executive of Batelco.

The ICT 4 all Exhibition and partnership area is part of ICT 4 all, the major parallel event at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Tunis 2005. The exhibition is open to both accredited participants of the WSIS and to general public concerned with ICT.
