BenQ expands digital camera range to capitalize on end of year sales

BenQ Middle East is expected to drive profit margins by expanding its range of digital cameras in time for the close of 2005 with the launch of an ultra-slim new model, designed to bring high-quality photography in an easy-to-carry package.

The fashionable and stylish BenQ DC C500 is one of the lightest 5 megapixel digital camera with fixed focus lens on the market. This small and portable camera is coupled with a 1.7-inch, high resolution LCD screen and offers PictBridge compatibility for easy printing without the need for going to the computer. The BenQ DC C500 camera also supports PC camera for video conferencing.

The BenQ DC C500 comes with a 5MP CCD Resolution and a fixed-focus lens and offers a smart photo-editing function including trimming, resizing, rotation, color filter and movie editing - which can be done via the touch of a button instead of a computer.

BenQ recorded strong sales of its advanced cameras for 2005, and senior executives have expressed confidence that, with the launch of the C500, BenQ will capture a majority share of this highly competitive market in 2006.

The launch of the C500 comes at the end of another successful year of trading for BenQ, which has not only witnessed a major product growth but also the company's 64th international design award.
