The brand new aircraft, which arrived Wednesday evening at Kuwait International Airport from Toulouse, France, was received by directors from Kuwait's Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Jazeera Airways directors.
Chairman and CEO of Jazeera Airways, Marwan Boodai, stated as he stood on the Tarmac:
'This is the second Airbus A320 we add to our growing fleet, and we have chosen this particular type of aircraft for its track record of delivering high operational and fuel efficiency'.
He added: 'We wanted to make sure that all our passengers are comfortably seated during our flights, which gave us more reason to build our fleet out of the Airbus A320 and fit it with all leather seats.'
The new aircraft will commence its flights on Thursday, expanding the airline's network to Damascus, Amman, and Manama.
The aircraft is the second of a confirmed fleet of four brand new Airbus A320 aircrafts, with the remaining two being delivered to Jazeera Airways by June 2006.
The airline is the first and only fully privately funded scheduled airline in the Middle East, and the second airline in Kuwait.
10 days since first commercial flight
Only ten days since its inaugural flight, Jazeera Airways is already realizing its vision to empower passengers. People travelling to and from Kuwait no longer have to reconfirm their bookings or wait until the day they travel to be assigned their seats. Jazeera Airways enables travellers to book their seats at the time of their reservation, a system designed to eliminate over-booked flights.
'Our business is not only flying people, but also empowering them' said the Chairman and CEO.
'Our business model is built on the sustainable and continued delivery of every day low fares spread across our route network and our fleet of Airbus A320 plays an all-important part in our mission of empowering travellers,' he continued.
Jazeera Airways' innovative business model combines the efficiency of a low fare airline with the highest quality of service and comfort. The airline is poised to change the face of air travel in the Kuwait and Middle East with its commitment to its vision of empowering travellers with full control of their travel experience - from booking channels which are available on a 24 hour basis where they can choose their own seats, to the choice of food which can be purchased on board.
The airline has recruited a team of international aviation experts and has invested heavily in latest booking and payment technology, fully electronically integrated operations and a ticket-less model.
'We have teamed up with the best partners in the industry like Airbus and Navitaire electronic booking engine to achieve highest level of efficiency and offer a unique proposition that empowers people travelling to and from Kuwait',
said Boodai.
Jazeera Airways has hired a global leader in aircraft engineering - the German Lufthansa Technik - to look after its new fleet in partnership with Jazeera Airways engineers. The airline is no less demanding when it comes to quality of its team, only hiring pilots with minimum experience of 5000 hours of flight time.
