Mona Al Marri, Vice President of Dubai Ladies Club said,
'This step was taken to strengthen the proficiency of women in the IT field, by collaborating to organize a series of training courses for ladies in the different IT applications. This is the first programme of its kind tagetting women which will run throughout the year.'
She added, 'We are very happy with the response we received from women looking to enhance their skills. The partcipants showed keen interest to learn and benefit from the programme which includes both theory and practical sessions.'
The IT programme includes a series of courses highlighting basic computer skills, managing files and operating systems. The programme also includes training courses in Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint). These cources are being supervised by a qualified team of IT experts who adopt simple ways of teaching both the theory and the practical elements of the cources. The practicals are conducted at special Computer Lab set up at the Dubai Ladies Club.
Phase one of the project will include training courses to certify women with international IT qualifications, while the more comprehensive Phase two will comprise training in all the fields and specializations within the study of information technology.
The first course under the Programme is ICDL certified.
