Turkey at the Big 5 show 2005

As is known, The Big 5 Show held in Dubai is the largest annual trade show for the construction industry in the Gulf Region and also the unique event combining five major sectors (building and construction, water technology and environment, air conditioning and refrigeration, cleaning and maintenance, glass and metal) under one roof. Those sectors constitute the most emerging and growing sectors of Turkey particularly in the last decade.

Construction is one of the key sectors in Turkey, being one of the main drivers of private and public investments in Turkey. As a result of economic reforms, Turkey has established a large and strong construction industry in a short time. In 2004 new building permits reached 67 million m2. When construction materials are included the created value added is well above US$ 20 billion.

The concepts of advanced technology, on-time delivery, quick response, high quality, use of reasonably priced Turkish labour and goods and equipment and building materials of international standards have enabled the Turkish construction sector to compete throughout the world.

Turkey is a major producer of basic construction materials such as cement, building steel, timber, bricks, PVC, polyethylene, glass, ceramic tiles and sanitaryware, being especially strong and competitive in producing construction steel, cement, ceramic, glass and marble products.

In 2004, Turkish building materials exports reached about US$ 7.2 billion with 58 % growth. Turkish building materials were exported to about 172 countries in 2004. The main export markets are the USA, the UAE, Iraq, the UK, Italy and Spain.

During The BIG 5 SHOW 2005, 42 Turkish exhibitors will be welcoming you in two separate Turkish National Stands, in Hall 5 and in Sheikh Rashid Hall presenting wooden & steel doors, door handles, door & window accessories, balustrades, wires, mesh wires and fences, formwork and scaffolding systems, concrete batching plants, concrete paver and block making machines & moulds, industrial floor coatings, plate compactors, surface preparation & polishing machines, floor cutting machines, electric hand tools, abrasives, pp & steel fibers, big bags, construction chemicals, sealants, adhesives, rubber gaskets & seals, isolation materials, roofing sheets & tiles, reinforcement and decoration profiles for construction, plastic pipes and fittings, swimming pool equipments, water and wastewater treatment plant equipments, fans, motors, boilers, tanks, water heaters, solar systems, bathtubes, ceramic tiles, marble & travertine blocks, tiles and slabs.
