- PRESS RELEASE
The Institute for Risk Management - IRM -, the Business Continuity Institute - BCI - and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management - IIRSM - are among the leading associations and independent experts to address the 2nd Middle East Enterprise Risk Management & Business Continuity Summit to be held on 10 -14 December 2005 at the Dusit Hotel in Dubai.
Mike Walker, Deputy Chairman of the Institute of Risk Management will discuss how the key risk management challenges can be met and how risk management should be integrated into the corporate strategy. "Risk management is relevant to all organisations whether they are in the public or private sector, or whether they are large or small. It should form a part of the culture of the organisation, with an effective policy and programme led by top management with clear responsibilities laid down for every manager and employee to be involved in the management of risk. It supports accountability, performance measurement and reward thus promoting efficiency at all levels", Mike mentions.
Steve Mellish, Chairman of the Business Continuity Institute will address building the best structures for business continuity planning, giving an in-depth overview of the critical components and issues for the successful implementation of continuity planning. "The wider role of the BCI is to promote the highest standards of professional competence and commercial ethics in the provision and maintenance of business continuity planning and services", Steve Mellish says. He is also the Head of Business Continuity of Sainsbury Supermarkets in the UK and was awarded the "Business Continuity Manager of the Year 2005" award in May 2005.
Paul Hopkin is Chairman of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and will concentrate on issues such as the application of a Financial, Infrastructure, Reputational and Marketplace (FIRM) risk scorecard to an organisation.
The ERM & BC Summit is the largest regional conference dedicated to enterprise risk management, business continuity management and disaster recovery.
