Etisalat's sponsorships aim at promoting business excellence in the UAE

Etisalat has a long history in supporting various events aiming at boosting the reputation of the UAE in the GCC and around the world.

In this regard, it's worth mentioning the key role Etisalat has played in sponsoring the Arabian Business Awards 2005. The award was organized by ITP publishing for the sixth continuous year and was held under the patronage of H.H General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and the UAE Minster of Defence. H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces was the guest of honour of the ceremony.

In his statement about the event, Mohammed Hassan Omran, Etisalat Chairman and CEO, said:

"Sponsoring the Arabian Business Awards 2005 as well as other events reflects Etisalat's commitment towards supporting all events and activities that support national progress and improvement. This award enhanced the role of creative professionals in different domains. Leadership is often linked to creativity and both require great concern and support from all organizations. He also added, "As we all know, the media is considered to be the main partner of all business sectors. The media's role became more effective especially in the age of Information Technology as news can easily be spread around the world, and thereby becoming the primary source for information distribution."

Emirates Telecommunication Corporation - Etisalat - has realized the important role of the media and is therefore sponsoring the Arabian Business Awards 2005.

Waleed Akkawi, Vice President ITP, praised Etisalat's sponsorship for this distinguished award which honors individuals as well as organizations for offering service excellence in the fields of economy, commerce, banking and finance.

Akkawi said: "Etisalat has always been committed to support the initiatives of any creative functions and events. The Arabian Business Award was being organized for the sixth year in a row, honouring "The visionary man of the year 2005". The awards were categorized to the best businessman for the year, the best businesswoman for the year, best young character, the best company to offer the best social service, the best financial institution, the best real estate company, the best financing company, the best industrial firm and best retail company.
