- Egypt: Tuesday, November 15 - 2005 at 17:02
- PRESS RELEASE
The M.A Kharafi Group of Kuwait announced today at the World Travel Market in London the opening of the first resort hotel at their multi-billion dollar international destination resort community of 'Port Ghalib' on Egypt's Coral Coast, of the South Red Sea.
"Firstly, Pringle noted, is the hotel's location right in the heart of the Port Ghalib international marina and only a short 5 minutes drive from the Marsa Alam International Airport - allowing diving guests the most rapid transit time possible from "air travel arrival to being in the water" of any diving center hotel or safari boat operation on the whole of the Red Sea .Divers come here to dive - not to take long bus trips from an arrival airport to their hotel - they want to get in the water as soon as possible - and our location and facilities in the heart of Port Galib allows that to happen."
"Secondly divers want to have a great diving center where they can get the best diving equipment and professional instruction to make their diving trip to the Red Sea and Coral Coast safe and hassle free." The Coral Beach Diving Hotel has been designed with the direct assistance of some of the world's leading diving center professionals from South Africa, the U.K .and the U.S. The special instruction pool with its underwater classroom and viewing windows adds a whole new dimension to the class-room portion diving lessons and instruction. The Coral Beach Diving Hotel's collaboration with the U.K.'s Emporor's Divers has ensured the center's rental equipment, oxygen filling systems, diving boats, and professional instructor are all world-class."
"Thirdly, our diving guests want the widest possible variety of diving trips to enjoy at the Red Sea's magnificent famous diving sites - wrecks, corals, color fish life, dolphins and yes - even Sharks" noted Pringle ."All of this is available from Port Ghalib including the convenient possibility of being able to visit all four of Egypt's world famous marine parks: Rocky Island, Zabagad Island, Daedalus Reef and the Brothers Island in one trip - something that was not possible prior to the opening of Port Ghalib's international marina."
And lastly, notes Mohamed Fahmy, Managing Director of MAK Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, the owner of the hotel, "When the divers are not off diving, they want comfort, great food and drink, other adventurous and entertainment possibilities to enjoy and a memorable lodging experience fitting with the spirit of an adventure in Egypt .No place delivers these ingredients like the Port Ghalib Coral Beach Diving Village .The feel and ambience of the Coral Beach is right out of A Thousand and One Nights and this is complemented by the pulsating nightlife that will make Port Ghalib the heartbeat of the Coral Coast."
Accommodation in the Coral Beach Diving Hotel comprises of 115 double/twin rooms, 2 disability double/twin rooms, 3 suites, and 2 apartments. A new 80 room expansion will open in early 2006.The hotel also features a health club/gymnasium, swimming pool, and a number of food and beverage outlets in addition to its main restaurant.
Developed as a living, integrated community of distinction, activity and variety; setting it apart from other resorts in the region , Port Ghalib is situated along the magnificent coral wall that stretches for over 400 kilometers along the south Red Sea creating the famed "Coral Coast" of Egypt .When complete ,it will comprise nine villages, featuring 23 hotels, an international marina and yacht club, conference center, golf course, luxury residential properties, retail and commercial outlets, and entertainment facilities.
James Pringle sums it up clearly and succinctly "adventure, excitement and fulfillment is what Port Ghalibis all about - diving that is almost spiritual in its beauty, sports fishing, sailing and yachting, desert mountain trekking, exploring 5000 year - old ruins and monuments, plus the sun, sand and sea and 360 days of sunshine per year with lodging options of comfort, distinction and world-class service - Port Ghalib: Anciently Modern. Naturally Egypt."
