Blind and visually-impaired Tunisians will be able to have access to computers through Supernova 6.50 which integrates three functionalities in one package. Synthesized speech, Braille output and screen magnification are conveniently delivered with simple key presses.
The Tunisian Ministry of Social Affairs supported by World Bank will implement the project equipping 30 information technology centers throughout Tunis with assistive technology equipment. The Ministry will demonstrate Supernova 6.50 to visiting delegations during the upcoming World Summit on the Information Society, WSIS to be held from 14 to 16 of November, 2005. The demonstration will be carried out throughout the Summit in the National Technology Compound in Alghazala in the capital.
