EMC outlines comprehensive backup and recovery strategy for regional executives

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, November 15 - 2005 at 13:26
  • PRESS RELEASE

At its Middle East Backup, Recovery, and Archiving Events next week, the Middle East operations of EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, will outline its strategy to enable regional customers, for the first time, to deploy complete solutions that enable them to safeguard their vital information and meet recovery requirements—all while reducing cost.

The EMC Backup, Recovery, and Archiving Events are a forum for decision-makers in the UAE, Kuwait, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss how the processes of backup, recovery, and archiving complement each other and how to streamline and improve IT and business operations. Since these challenges are closely interrelated, EMC experts will demonstrate the benefits of implementing a comprehensive, cost-effective approach to solving them.

"Efficient and reliable backup and recovery has become a major struggle for regional organizations dealing with exponential data growth. The most common discussion with customers is about spending time and resources backing up files that haven't changed' said Mohammed Amin, regional manager for EMC Middle East.

"By moving digital assets to an online archive if they're not being updated, EMC's back up, recovery and archive solutions enable customers to avoid unnecessary backups. This approach enables customers to focus on backing up new content and updated operational data—while archiving unchanged, infrequently accessed files. The result is faster performance, increased productivity, and reduced costs for storing data,"

he continued.

Tiered Data Protection Strategy Matches Business Value of Information

The core theme of the EMC Middle East Backup, Recovery, and Archiving Events is the company's information lifecycle management (ILM) strategy, which aligns the business value of data with its protection method, from creation to disposal.

EMC professionals will outline how companies can dramatically improve efficiencies by creating an online, active archive of non-changing data assets as they focus backup efforts on actively changing data. EMC solutions deliver tiered performance and recovery service levels, as well as software to automate data movement, keeping companies' data assets protected and highly available—and on the most cost-effective storage platforms—throughout the backup, recovery, and archiving process.

"Recognized as the leading storage software vendor in the Middle East, EMC is proactively updating our clients on how backup and recovery of data fits into their overall ILM strategy to ensure that information is protected cost-effectively, based on the changing importance such data to the organization," concluded Amin.
The EMC Middle East Backup, Recovery, and Archiving Event will visit Dubai on 13 November, Kuwait on 14 November, and Riyadh on 16 November.
