- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, November 16 - 2005 at 12:34
- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has supported a trip organised by the German airliner, Lufthansa, to familiarise German travel agents about Dubai's growing image as one of the world's premium trade and tourism hub.
The German visitors were taken on an exclusive city tour including a trip to the glittering Grosvenor House and offered five-star hospitality. They were offered a taste of the classical Emirati cuisine and culture at the dhow cruise dinner and the desert safari.
The DTCM's support to the German FAM trip is part of its overall objectives to promote Dubai as a new genre leisure and tourism destination in front of an international audience.
Germany is one of the key source markets for Dubai tourism with the number of hotel guests in Dubai from Germany increasing by a whopping 50.8 per cent in 2004.
The number of German tour operators featuring Dubai stood at 155 in 2004, a significant increase from 116 in 2003.
