The group of 10 travel and tour operators from Germany who visited Dubai from November 12 to 14 were briefed about various upcoming projects, heritage sites, shopping opportunities, adventure sports facilities, and spas at a presentation held at the DTCM head office.
The German visitors were taken on an exclusive city tour including a trip to the glittering Grosvenor House and offered five-star hospitality. They were offered a taste of the classical Emirati cuisine and culture at the dhow cruise dinner and the desert safari.
The DTCM's support to the German FAM trip is part of its overall objectives to promote Dubai as a new genre leisure and tourism destination in front of an international audience.
Germany is one of the key source markets for Dubai tourism with the number of hotel guests in Dubai from Germany increasing by a whopping 50.8 per cent in 2004.
The number of German tour operators featuring Dubai stood at 155 in 2004, a significant increase from 116 in 2003.
