Eng. Hawa Bastaki, Director of Administrative Development and Quality Department said the workshops will last until the end of January 2006.
She said the workshops come as part of the working plan of the Administrative Development and Quality Department for 2005, which comes under the Dubai Municipality strategic plan.
"We want to involve the employees in the processes of the strategic planning as well as the operational plan of their organizational units in order to accomplish the mission, vision, values and ethics of work for all the employees of the Municipality,"said Bastaki.
She said that the workshops are also part of the training courses for all the employees of the Municipality, except that of the leaders and supervisors who have attended the workshops, seminars and meetings that were held through the strategic planning project during 2003-2004.
The new workshops are being conducted by lecturers from the Corporate Planning Section in the Administrative Development and Quality Department under the supervision of Bastaki.
She said the workshops are aimed at all the employees of the Municipality to provide them with ideas, methods and steps of strategic planning and to enhance their skills in preparing strategic and operational plans and following up their implementation in a perfect scientific way.
Bastaki said that to ensure the credibility of the activities of the workshops a questionnaire has been prepared aimed at gauging the level of understanding of each employee on the strategic planning and the first strategic plan document of Dubai Municipality (Vision, Mission and Values).
The questionnaire will also measure how much it is reflected on the employee's work in his or her organizational unit in order to utilize it in accomplishing the objectives of the Municipality in this field.
