The Landmark Group rides the growing retail wave with the opening of a second centrepoint in Bur Dubai

The Landmark Group has announced the launch of its second Centrepoint concept in the UAE, covering an area of approximately 90,000 sq ft., located in Bur Dubai.

Centrepoint - Bur Dubai, is strategically located on the Trade Center Rd., making it accessible to many loyal customers and families - a key audience of the Landmark Group.

The inauguration of the second Centrepoint comes amid a boom in the retail sector in the UAE with Dubai in particular being the fastest growing city in the world with an annual retail growth of between 10 to 15 percent. Recent statistics have predicted that by the year 2010, Dubai will control about 30% of the GCC's retail space.

"It is an incredible feeling to be part of such a dynamic, fast paced retail industry in such a diverse setting as Dubai. A quick glance at UAE's increasing per capita income together with the booming retail sector augurs well for the future growth of Centrepoint " said a spokesperson from the Landmark Group.

He added: "Centrepoint's family-friendly environment, competitive prices, and its wide array of brands have created an enriching shopping experience that has helped build a vast loyal customer base".

The Landmark Group plans to set up a Centrepoint in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, as part of its expansion programme early 2006. "It is important for us to keep up with the retail developments in the region and further enhance Dubai's image as a trend-setter in the retail industry and its position as a year-round shopping destination in the region," he concluded.

Centrepoint is innovative and unique, mainly because it provides the trendy teenager, families, newlyweds and women of all ages, one destination, for a wide choice of in-house and international retail brands.

Centrepoint, Bur Dubai will consist of Baby Shop, Shoe Mart, Splash, Lifestyle, Lee Cooper, Shelly's, Emax (Max Electronics), and Shape Express. Additionally, there will be Landmark Food outlets to cater to Centrepoint customers- Cerrutti Cafe and Haven's Cafe and a two-level parking lot located in the basement for their facility.
