DIFX to stage first annual conference in conjunction with Euromoney on November 21st

The Dubai International Financial Exchange will hold its first annual conference titled "Euromoney/DIFX Securities Market Conference: Building securities markets in Dubai Time Zone" on November 21st, 2005 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

The conference will take place under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Defense Minister and President of the DIFC.

The conference, which brings together financial experts from around the region and internationally as speakers and attendees, aims to promote understanding of securities markets and highlight the challenges posed to the financial industry in the region. The event also provides finance professionals an opportunity to meet senior executives of the DIFX and learn more about the international market that it has created.

The conference will include keynote addresses from Dr Omar Bin Sulaiman, Director General of the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority and Mr Kevin Bannon, Chief Investment Officer, Bank of New York; and interactive panel discussions and workshops hosted by market participants and sponsors such as EFG-Hermes Holdings, Shuaa Capital, Citigroup, Moody's Investors Services and the DIFX. The social and networking events will enable guests to talk in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The DIFX aims to become the main exchange in its region for equities, bonds, Islamic products, funds, index products and derivatives. The target areas of the DIFX for seeking issuers include the whole of the Middle East and North Africa, as well as South Africa, Turkey and the Indian sub-continent.
