Saab first to sign for Dubai 2007

"This early commitment is in response to the increasing interest in Saab products from within the Middle East," explained Peter Millar, President, Saab International Middle East.

Dubai 2007 will mark Saab's third participation in a Dubai air show.

"It is likely that our presence will be larger than at Dubai 2005 if the rate of interest in Saab from within the region continues,"

said Humaid S. Al Dhaheri, Service Agent, Saab International Middle East. "Nevertheless by moving quickly we have ensured we have one of the better slots for Dubai 2007."

Saab is represented at Dubai 2005 with a display of a selection of its broad portfolio of products and services for land, air and sea, such as Command and Control, Training and Simulation and missile systems. A heavyweight Saab delegation is at the show including the Group's Deputy CEO, Ingemar Andersson.

Meanwhile, Saab is also in focus this week with the regional debut of the Gripen first, new generation fighter jet in the daily flying display of Dubai 2005, which runs at Airport Expo Dubai until November 24th.

Saab display pilot Fredrik Muchler is using a fully operational Gripen to perform his world-renowned display. Gripen International, the business unit within Saab responsible for marketing, selling and supporting the Gripen fighter worldwide, also has a major delegation at the show led by its Managing Director, Mr Johan Leander.

With the first Dubai 2007 under its belt, Dubai air show organizers predict a flurry of commitments before the end of Dubai 2005.

"Certainly there has been a lot of interest with companies wanting the confirmed dates to consider their future participation," said Alison Weller, Director Aerospace, F&E.
