The UAE had a stand of 165 sq.m stand, and it attracted high profile guests as well as members of the media. One of the visitors was HE Idris Jatou, Prime Minister of Morrocco, and others included Ministers of Telecommunications for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Islamic Republic of Iran.
A delegation of senior representatives of ArabSat paid a visit to the Etisalat section of the UAE stand to see the state of the art services the Corporation provides. Mr Ibrahim Al Haddad, regional representative and Arab Bureau Manager of International Telecom Union visited the Etisalat display area and met officials.
Ahmed Bin Ali, Manager Corporate Communications, Etisalat, said:
"Through this participation, Etisalat has achieved the objectives we were aiming for. We showcased the services that gained us international status."
Bin Ali added, "Our participation in this event is in line with our commitment to be an active participant in IT and Telecom conferences and exhibitions, not only region wide, but also globally."
The divisions of Etisalat that participated in the exhibition included eCompany, Etisalat Academy, Emirates Data Clearing House (EDCH), Emirates Internet Exchange (EMIX), and the subsidiary present was e-marine.
Etisalat's participation attracted the interest of the African media in general and Tunisian in particular.
