RAK Government hosts the first international conference on 'Building Materials for the Cement Industry'

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the Investment and Development Office (IDO) of Ras Al Khaimah in association with Haver & Boecker, Ibau and Beumer from Germany, is holding a conference on 'Building Materials for the Cement Industry' at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah on November 23rd, 2005.

The conference is being held for the first time in the GCC with international speakers from the industry. The event will aim to elevate the understanding about the demand of Cement, its relevance to the region and potential growth of the industry with reference to the Middle East.

"We are thankful to the vision and support of HH Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince & Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, towards the industrial development of Ras Al Khaimah. The emirate is one of the leading cement producing emirates within UAE and as part of our commitment to the development of this industry, we are hosting this conference with a panel of international speakers for the benefit of professionals from this industry" said Dr. Izzat Dajani, Chief Executive, Investment and Development Office, Government of Ras Al Khaimah.
With a history of over 30 years in the cement manufacturing industry, Ras Al Khaimah plans to undertake several projects to meet the huge demand of cement and other building materials in UAE and the region.

"We are planning for huge investments in the cement industry during the coming three years with the aim to double the production capacity. This will increase Ras Al Khaimah's cement capacity to over ten million tonnes by 2008, making RAK the largest emirate in cement capacity production in the UAE",
