ADNH announces new Gulf Hotel waterfront resort

The new Gulf Hotel Resort will feature a five star hotel made up of several interconnected towers, with approximately 350 rooms, large banqueting facilities and 105 one, two and three-bedroom chalets. Several rooms will also overlook the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

The site will have a large waterfront with a marina, beach club, spa and health care centre, village style retail and restaurant facilities, and kids' play area. The resort will also feature state of the art sporting facilities and separate guest entrances.

His Excellency Khalifa Nasser Bin Huwaileel Al Mansoori, Chairman of ADNH, said: "The hotel will position itself first and foremost as a resort, but also aim to appeal to corporate travellers through its range of modern business facilities. The Gulf Hotel Resort will be an important addition to Abu Dhabi's growing portfolio of hotels and resorts. With its unique and inspiring waterfront, the Gulf Hotel Resort will no doubt attract both international and regional visitors to the UAE's capital."

Due for completion in mid 2008, the Gulf Hotel Resort has been designed in Venetian style featuring canals and waterways. The current creek will be extended to approximately five times its current size, covering two kilometres.

To create a tranquil environment, the resort will be built in a manmade valley. Its underground parking at the entrance of the resort will mean that no vehicles will be visible to visitors.

SSW & Partner (The German Architects) has been selected as architects and consultants for the project, while MACE International will be project managers.
