MTC - Vodafone (Kuwait) launches AlJazeera mobile services

MTC-Vodafone (Kuwait), the country's leading telecommunications company, proudly delivers a new service for its customers in Kuwait - AlJazeera Mobile services via GSM mobile phones.

In collaboration with AlJazeera Channel, Al Majaz Telecom Technology and Aiwa Gulf, MTC-Vodafone will enable customers to stay connected by viewing breaking news, sports, political and business news and information on their GSM mobile handsets from the leading Arab news provider.

Customers require a GSM handset to access AlJazeera Mobile Services and need simply to send the appropriate SMS message to subscribe for selected services. The following news services are already available to MTC-Vodafone customers. Specialized AlJazeera services include:

• Breaking News: send BNA for Arabic or BNE for English to 96611

• Business News: send BFNA for Arabic and BFNE for English to 96611

• Political News: send PNA for Arabic and PNE for English 96611

• Football News: send SAFA for Arabic and SAFE for English to 96611

• Motor Racing News: send SAMA for Arabic and SAME for English to 96611

• Cricket News: send SACE for English to 96611

About Al Jazeera Channel:
Al Jazeera Channel was established in November 1996, as the first independent Arabic language satellite channel to broadcast out of the Arab world with a declared mandate of dedicating its resources to providing news and information to Arab audiences at large. Over 45 million viewers in the Middle East alone, tune to Al Jazeera for their daily dose of news and information.

The Channel had launched its bilingual, 3rd generation mobile news service, AlJazeera Mobile, in October 2003 through a cooperation between AlJazeera Net and Al Majaz Telecom Technology.
