Batelco speaks at 'ICT Exhibition 4 All' held in Tunisia

Batelco's delegation member to the 'ICT 4 All Exhibition', Faris Algosaibi, gave a presentation on the side line of the event - concluded recently in Tunisia - reviewing aspects of ICT powering the business of Governments.

The presentation focussed on ICT technology as a key enabler in helping governments provide various services to their people. Faris highlighted the powerful role that ICT can play in all government sectors; such as healthcare, education, information, and transportation.

The presentation also gave some examples of the solutions and applications that can be used in the various government sectors and how Batelco is involved with the Government of Bahrain in projects; such as EduNet, Healthnet, and Government Net.

Faris stressed the importance of the key initiatives that Batelco is involved in and aimed at serving the people of Bahrain. These initiatives include providing a range of services; from consumer products, IP-enabled business solutions, and Consultancy services, through to the provision of mission critical data centre services and application management services. He outlined the drivers that necessitate change, which include changing demographics, economic pressures, globalisation and international competitiveness, security, and advances in technology.

Batelco is the only organisation from the Bahraini private sector that participated in the event under the pavilion of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa - Undersecretary Ministry of Transportation accompanied by A.T.Dlamini - Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Switzerland, Mr. Mohd Jameel Al Mulla -Saudi Arabia Minister of Telecommunication and Information, Dr. Sabri Seidam - Palestine Minister of Telecommunication and Information and Mahdi Malaka - Minister of Environment Development and Batelco's CE Mr Peter Kaliaroupolos visited Batelco's stand at the exhibition.
