The 26th WTM took place at ExCel in London from 14 - 17 November. 2005's show is the largest show in the event's history, with more than 5,000 exhibitors from 202 countries participating, and more than 50,000 visitors. A business-to-business driven show, Nakheel exhibited alongside 98 Dubai public and private sector organisations led by Dubai Department of Tourism and Marketing Commerce. The event follows on from the World Travel Awards 2005, where Nakheel was voted the "World's Leading Tourism Property Developer" by more than 170,000 travel industry professional. At the World Travel Market, Nakheel was focusing on three of its major waterfront projects: The World, Dubai Waterfront, and The Palm, Jebel Ali.

James Wilson, Chief Executive Officer Nakheel, said

"This has been a very good exhibition for us, and Dubai in general. It is not only an excellent platform for Nakheel to raise its profile in the international travel industry, but we have also had a significant number of expressions of interest from developers, who have been impressed by the investment opportunities on Dubai Waterfront, The World and The Palm Jebel Ali. The Dubai stand has been one of the most popular at the show - and I think this speaks volumes for the great strides Dubai as a destination is making; Nakheel is a key player in building that world class destination."

Andrew T Miles, a Business and Property Development Executive from Birmingham in the UK, said "Wow - there's some pretty impressive stands here at WTM, and Dubai's is right up there with the best. Dubai's property market looks to be very buoyant at the moment, and Nakheel's projects are pretty exciting. I've never seen anything like this before - perhaps I'll start saving for an island on The World."
