GCC bird flu plan

The GCC ministers of health and agriculture are drawing up an action plan to keep bird flu out of the region, reported Gulf News. The ministers agreed to ban imports of poultry, hatching eggs and fodder from countries suspected of being infected with the virus. A ban will also be placed on imports of waterfowl, terrestrial and ornamental birds, and surveillance will be boosted.
