The Grand Duke of Luxembourg visited The Palm, Jebel Ali on November 21, 2005. He was later taken on a boat trip around The Palm, Jebel Ali, where he was briefed on the various aspects of the island's development. The boat trip was followed by a reception at the two show waterhomes at The Palm, Jebel Ali.

Grand Duke Henri is the latest in a list of high-profile visitors to the iconic The Palm projects. Recent visitors include US singer Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, and Dutch Prime Minister J.P. Balkenende.

The Palm, Jebel Ali develops The Palm concept with the addition of waterhomes, built on stilts forming a 12km chain between the fronds and the Crescent, spelling out a verse from an Arabic poem written by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defense Minister. The Palm, Jebel Ali will be 7km in length and 7.5km in width and will have a crescent that is approximately 15.5km in length.
