Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive Vice President- Marketing, Etisalat, said:
"Our studies have shown that the market demand is for flexibility in amounts for mobile recharging. Recharge cards in different denominations will satisfy the needs of the varied customer base we have for the 'Wasel' service. This step is an indication of the value that Etisalat places on customer service and satisfaction."
"The AED 30 cards will no longer be available at Etisalat Business Centres, but they will not be withdrawn from the market. All AED 30 cards in the market will remain valid and operational until the credit is used. Customers and retailers need not exchange their stock of AED 30 cards for the new scratch cards, and can continue to use them as normal", he added.
The new cards are colour-coded, a feature that will make the cards easily recognizable to all. The 'Wasel' recharge cards of AED 25 are red and the AED 40 cards are green.
This is the first in a series of initiatives expected to offer more choice and convenience to users of Etisalat's prepaid services. This step opens up a range of possibilities like launching even more denominations and giving 'Wasel'-specific benefits through the cards in the future. A prepaid card for all Etisalat prepaid services other than 'Wasel' recharge is imminent. Etisalat will soon also launch an exciting promotion campaign for users of the new 'Wasel' recharge cards.
Using the AED 30 cards, customers could recharge their phones by creating three combinations under AED 100 (AED 30, 60, 90). With the new denominations of AED 25 and AED 40, customers can create eight options (AED 25, 40, 50, 65, 75, 80, 90, and 100) for recharging 'Wasel'.
