  • PRESS RELEASE

Citibank, a member of Citigroup, announced today the launch of a pioneering distribution channel designed to providing customers with a full suite of banking services closer to home.

Located on Jumeira Road at the affluent Umm-Suqaim neighborhood of Dubai, the self-service Electronic Banking Unit (EBU) will be followed by other such centers in different locations throughout the UAE.

Citibank's EBU is a unique self-service banking center. It has full-servicing functionality with special distinctions: highly trained staff complementing the electronic capabilities and a carefully selected location close to customers.

This new addition to Citibank's already comprehensive personal banking offer comprises three banking representatives standing ready to fulfill customers' banking, finance and investment needs in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The Unit is also equipped with a state-of-the-art Automated Teller Machine (ATM) that helps customers complete their daily banking transactions.

"At Citibank, we are edging closer to our valued customers and to servicing them wherever they may be. The self-service EBU in Jumeira offers customers the convenience of being served in their local neighborhood,"

said Rajeev Kakar, Regional Head for Citibank's Consumer Bank in Turkey,Middle East & Africa, who is based in UAE.

"We continuously work towards building greater convenience and access for customers, through the introduction of new access channels to meet their growing needs, whether through branches and new electronic banking units, or through the convenience of 24/7 banking offered by the unique CitiPhone platform at 3114000, or through the Internet by accessing Citibank Online at www.citibank.ae."

The Jumeira self-service EBU falls within a series of service and product initiatives that the bank has been executing in the past 24 months. During this period, the bank doubled its proprietary ATM network across the UAE, with the total number expected to reach 50 machines by year-end. The bank has also introduced pioneering 8-8 branch hours during this period and revamped its sophisticated CitiPhone Banking service, a virtual branch meeting customers' diverse needs over the telephone.
