- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, November 26 - 2005 at 16:40
- PRESS RELEASE
A delegation of travel trade professionals from across the GCC will today (Sunday) embark on a mini-tour of Montreux, Switzerland in search of the best destinations and facilities on offer in the festival town during the autumn and winter seasons.
One of the main hosts participating in the venture is world-renowned medical and revitalisation centre Clinique La Prairie. While the visiting party will enjoy a tour of the new state-of-the-art spa and thalassotherapy centre, they will also sit down to a specially prepared dietetic lunch created by Elfried Blaes, the executive chef of the clinic's gastronomic restaurant.
Montreux is most famous for its eponymous jazz festival which takes place in June and July each year however this month's trip will focus on those hidden delights of the southerly Swiss region which are on offer to enjoy year-round.
Further treats for the taste-buds will be served at acclaimed restaurants Palais Oriental and Château du Châtelard and organisers will show off the ornate architecture and history of a local private school.
Other activities include presentations about the Montreux area and one-to-one interviews with key tourism agencies and attractions.
Clinique La Prairie's popularity with guests from the Middle East has grown over recent years thanks to its unique Revitalisation cellular therapy, which uses two injections to strengthen the immune system and slow down the signs of ageing.
Traditionally a medical centre, the clinic has now expanded to incorporate a wide range of disciplines related to anti-ageing and wellness such as non-invasive skin treatments, weight management, plastic surgery and dentistry.
The 'Workshop GCC' event is organised in co-operation with Swiss International Air Lines, Swiss Travel System and the hosting partner, Montreux-Vevey Tourism.
