First three days of CCFS 2005 attract over 27,000 visitors

The first three days of the China Commodities Fair Sharjah 2005 (CCFS) exhibition at Expo Centre Sharjah has attracted 27,314 visitors from 46 countries.

The five-day event, which commenced on November 26th, is featuring over 600 companies and displaying more than 10,000 products.

Among the different categories of products that are being showcased at the fourth edition of the show are machinery, engineering, electrical, light industry equipment, textile, and building material among others.

Of the total visitors who visited CCFS on the first three days, 8,699 were trade visitors and 18, 615 were general visitors.

While a large number of the trade visitors were from the GCC states including Saudi Arabia, a substantial number of them also came from Iran, Iraq, India, Lebanon, Libya, Pakistan, Syria, USA, Yemen, and China among other countries.

The number of visitors is expected to significantly rise as the show nears it day of conclusion on November 30th.

"The CCFS is considered to be an established sourcing platform for quality and affordable Chinese products and services in the region," said Mr. Fasahat Ali Khan, Acting Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah, in a press statement.

"It is precisely due to this reason that every edition of this show successfully attracts large numbers of trade visitors from the GCC and the surrounding region," he added.

CCFS 2005 is expected to witness a boost in visitor turnout, both trade and general, compared to the edition last year.

"The last edition of CCFS, which was held at Expo Centre Sharjah in December 2004, attracted a total of 55,071 visitors including 13,834 trade visitors," said Mr. Saif M. Al Midfa, Manager - Expo Marketing Services (EMS), the arm of Expo Centre Sharjah that handles promotions and visitor registration for its shows.
"This edition, we are expecting a significant rise in visitor turnout. However, we are fully geared to meet with the increased visitor traffic," he added.

CCFS is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), and organised by Chinamex and Expo Centre Sharjah.

CCFS 2005 is open till November 30th from 10 am to 1 pm for trade only and from 5 pm to 9 pm for both trade and public. Children below 16 years are not allowed.
