Dubai Women's College Director to speak at international conference in Berlin

Dubai Women's College (DWC) Director, Dr. Howard Reed will present at the 11th International Conference on Technology Supported Learning & Training in Berlin, Germany, being held from 29-30 November, 2005.
He will give a second presentation at the 2nd Middle East E-Learning Forum and Exchange titled Re-inventing Higher Education in Dubai, discussing how DWC has successfully introduced computer and online technologies to support life long learning. He will also discuss how DWC's teaching staff, from more than 26 countries, have moved away from a teacher centric model to a project based model by incorporating technical skills and creativity.
He will also discuss how teachers and management work together to ensure that undergraduate students are introduced to the workplace in the first year of their programs, and that their skills development covers a range of technical and soft skills that are learned on the job through industry mentoring, project work and mandatory work experience. The presentation will also give a glimpse on how DWC has created a learning environment that is adaptable and fully supports the rapidly growing employment needs of the fast paced, changing Dubai economy.
