Region's largest energy law conference in Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, November 29 - 2005 at 14:09
- PRESS RELEASE
The International Bar Association (IBA), the world's largest networking community of lawyers and bar associations, is hosting an exclusive conference targeted at the energy industry in Dubai on December 6th and 7th 2005.
Al Tamimi & Company, one of the leading law firms in the Arabian Gulf region, will sponsor and participate in the conference. "'Full Power' is a must for anyone in the business of energy and natural resources, lawyers in private practice, corporate counsel, finance institutions and governments," said Essam Al-Tamimi, managing partner of Al-Tamimi & Company legal advocates. "The event is the premier forum for the discussion of energy investment in the Middle East, thus affording delegates the opportunity to meet with hundreds of fellow peers and experts."
Hosted specifically by IBA's section on energy, environment, natural resources and infrastructure law (SEERIL), the event will act as a showcase for some of the world's foremost energy and legal experts, including: Habib Al Mulla, chairman of the Arab Regional Forum of the IBA's legal practice division; Nancy Turk, general counsel of the International Energy Agency, Paris; Reinier H J H Lock, chair of SEERIL, Washington DC; and David Courtney Hatcher of Denton Wilde Sapte, to name but a few.
The agenda is broad-reaching and will cover all aspects of energy and law related issues - from the financing of energy projects, to models and experiences of energy restructuring in the Middle East, to environmental and social responsibility.
"The event is set to bring together the region's energy community over two full days - giving this select group the opportunity the chance to thrash out important issues and learn from both peers and world-renowned energy experts," said Habib Al Mulla. "This kind of event holds increased importance in these times, as we look forward to new ways of producing, distributing and managing energy in the region," he added.
The conference will be held at Arabian Courtyard, Bur Dubai hotel between 9.00am and 16.45pm on both days - interspersed with a cocktail reception at 19.00pm, 6th December, co-hosted by Al Tamimi and Co, Denton Wilde Sapte, Habib Al Mulla and Co, and Vinson and Elkins LLP, giving delegates the opportunity to network in an informal environment.
The conference has been accredited for Continuing Professional Development/Continuing Legal Education by the Law Society of England and Wales.
