Organising Committee reviews DSF 2006 events calendar

At the meeting presided over by Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda, DSF CEO, and held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, the committee pooled in their thoughts on the progress of the festival, in terms of infrastructure, hospitality sector, traffic management and active coordination with Government departments for various events during the month-long festival.

Welcoming members to the gathering, Al Nabouda appraised them of the format of the DSF 2006 opening programme, and the arrangements made for the same. DSF COO Ibrahim Saleh, made a presentation of the vast range of activities lined up for DSF 2006, and elaborated on the proactive approach that would go a long way towards the planning and successful execution of the festival.

During the meeting, the Civil Defence department, which is presenting a new family project at DSF 2006, updated the Organising Committee on the latest developments regarding the project and revealed the various venue options for their attractive event. Meanwhile, the committee members from various participating Government departments also discussed their strategy at the gathering including the requirements for the successful culmination of the events handled by them, as also of the festival at large.

Speaking on the occasion, Major Omar Al Shamsi, Member of the DSF Organising Committee and Chief of the PR and Protocol Department, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD), said that every year, DSF has managed to override varied obstacles in terms of ensuring the safe and fluid passage of visitors and traffic in and out of the country while the Dubai Police team unveiled the department's plans for this DSF, one that they said would seek to ensure a near flawless implementation of DSF 2006 and suggested the avoiding of two major events on the same day.
