Fujitsu Siemens launches the new LIFEBOOK P7120

  • PRESS RELEASE

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT provider, has responded to Middle East executives' growing demand for small, stylish, lightweight notebooks with an addition to its successful ultra-portable LIFEBOOK P Series.

The LIFEBOOK P7120, which was launched in the region in November, is the lightest, fully-functional notebook available with a modular bay, and incorporates innovative new technology, the EcoButton, which prolongs battery life far and beyond conventional norms.

"A key requirement for the mobile professional is long battery life. To specifically address this, Fujitsu Siemens Computers developed the EcoButton which allows longer usage time for today's 'mobile warrior'," said Susanne Lewitzki, Product Marketing Manager, Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

This integrated software solution improves power management and allows for considerably prolonged battery life: it takes just one click to change all power settings without disrupting productive work, such as disabling optical disk drives and reducing display brightness.

The EcoButton will be incorporated into all next-generation LIFEBOOK models. Adding a second battery to the LIFEBOOK P7120 extends usage time up to maximum 11.5 hours.*

Demand for a slim, attractive, fully-functional and powerful notebook is particularly strong among mobile professionals, such as sales representatives, consultants and highly mobile executives.

"They use notebooks in very demanding situations as a regular PC or a customer presentation platform. Notebooks are their corporate backbone while on the road," said Lewitzki.

The new LIFEBOOK P7120, with a striking glossy black finish, sports numerous mobility-friendly features. With a battery life of up to a full working day, brilliant widescreen display and technology to support all necessary connectivity possibilities, as well as weighing only 1.28 kg, without optical disk drive, the new LIFEBOOK addition satisfies all notebook users' needs.

"Our customers demand a notebook that combines state-of-the-art technology with special screen functionality, which makes it ideal for multimedia applications," added Lewitzki. "Style is also paramount and the new LIFEBOOK P7120 is as fashionable as it is practical."

Equipped with LED backlights, the display delivers brilliant colours while the higher contrast 15:9 format produces crisper images. It also absorbs most external light and has wider viewing angles than conventional notebook screens.

A biometric fingerprint sensor also comes as standard. The LIFEBOOK P7120 is tied to the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which acts as a hardware vault for passwords and encrypted keys. The hard disk drive shock absorbers reduce vibration to ensure higher data availability and prevent losses.

And with an eye to the future, the LIFEBOOK P7120 is VoIP-ready, featuring best speech recognition with latest array microphones.
