The seminar was led by professionals from the industry and was offered for AUD students and alumni in AUD premises.

Dr. Lance De Masi, AUD President, commented, "Today, folks, is about reality - - the reality that you will face upon graduation, the reality that will help you turn your experience at AUD from being an end in itself to being a trampoline for success."

All speakers were from multinational communication firms in Dubai. Among the main speakers at the seminar were Mr. Pierre Azzam, Group Managing Director of Impact/BBDO Middle East, Mr. Kamal Dimachkie, Managing Director of Leo Burnett Dubai, Mr. Ed Jones, Regional Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi Middle East and Mr. Ravi Rao, General Manager of OMD Dubai.

The seminar shed light on different issues such as "Advertising as an emotional connection", "Media planning in cyberspace," "The top seven factors for successful integration of communication" and "The importance of attitude in career success".

Real life examples were also presented for each topic to provide students with the simple and direct explanations and the most recent updates for advertising and media concepts to broaden their horizons. Each presentation concluded by a Q & A session where the students had the chance to inquire about the points and issues raised by each speaker.

AUD's program in marketing communication was established in 1997 through the joint efforts of Dr. Lance de Masi and Dubai Chapter of the IAA. The communication faculty consists of both career academics and professionals of various nationalities that offer students an opportunity to understand a variety of national perspectives, diverse approaches and orientations.
