Abu Dhabi to host 'Excellence in Energy Awards' 2006

Between 3 -7 December 2006, Abu Dhabi will stage both the 'Excellence In Energy Awards' and GASTECH, one of the world's major energy exhibitions.

"GASTECH is where the commercial and technical gas worlds meet," said Eileen Michael, Publisher, Reflex Publishing Middle East, which produces Pipeline, "the awards will be staged to coincide with GASTECH and will honour the companies, decision makers and projects that make a difference to the Middle East's energy sector".

The GASTECH exhibition is taking place at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre. The conference will take place at the Emirates Palace Hotel. More than 5,300 senior gas industry decision makers from 64 countries are expected to attend.

The awards cover a range of industry issues from health and safety to environment, from information technology to 'Project of the Year'. They emerge from a reader's choice scheme designed to recognise companies that make a significant difference in this dynamic industry.

"Voting in this year's awards reached record levels with polling rising 40% on previous events," explained Michael, "this record is expected to be broken next year as the industry continues to expand and new players enter the market."

The 'Excellence In Energy Awards' are supported by the International Association of Drilling Contractors, Project Management Institute, Regional Clean Seas Organisation and its members and the Energy Industry Council.
