Deciding not to join the family business after graduation, Gargash went into banking and then walked away from a highly successful career. In true entrepreneurial style, he then set up Daman, a group that focuses on developing capital markets opportunities in the UAE and the Middle East.
Dina Salem, well known presenter and program editor with Al Arabiya will be the Master of Ceremony at the event which will bring together current and prospective young entrepreneurs and business people from the region and government officials along with a high profile judging panel and senior Shell executives.
In the run-up to the event, Dr Mohamed Defrawi, Shell Abu Dhabi's Managing Director said:
"This region is experiencing a tremendous growth in so many sectors and the potential for entrepreneurship is incredible. We are proud that the Intilaaqah programme in Oman, UAE (Abu Dhabi) and Egypt is contributing in some way to helping the youth recognize this potential within themselves as well and shape them to become the business people of tomorrow. The Regional Intilaaqah Awards is a celebration of that entrepreneurial spirit that will be evident in the winners."
The judging panel will select the winners from the final nominees from the three countries where Intilaaqah is currently active. There are four award categories and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in each of the categories to help them further develop their business.
