At the World Islamic Banking Conference being held in Bahrain, Solidarity holds a Takaful Workshop

Solidarity, for the second consecutive year, will participate in the World Islamic Banking Conference as an official sponsor for the Takaful workshop, which will take place in Awal Ballroom at the Gulf Hotel on the 10th of December 2005 at 8 am.

Financial experts will share their insights on various issues related to the factors effecting the growth of Takaful and the necessary means required to develop this industry. Moreover, the workshop will discuss integral Sharia'h issues, which participate in establishing the growth of this ever expanding Islamic system of insurance and assurance. An added factor in the Takaful workshop this year will be the participation and contribution of Sharia'h scholars, stake and policy holders in the discussion.

On this occasion, Sameer Al Wazzan, General Manager for Solidarity -General Takaful said:" What Solidarity hopes to achieve during this workshop is to capture the various opinions of financial professionals and Sharia'h scholars aiming to help in the development of this industry. It is a given fact that any industry needs constant development to accordingly thrive and grow to meet with the changing social needs of our societies. It is vital for us to constantly hold informative workshops which highlight and analyze these developments in accordance to the teachings of Islamic Sharia'h."

Joining the Takaful workshop are Anwar Khalifa Al Sadah, Executive Director - Financial Institutions Supervision for the BMA will participate in the forum alongside Othman Al Hadi Ebrahim, CEO and General Manager for Sheikhan Insurance and Reinsurance in Sudan, in addition to Sheikh Nizam Yaqoobi, a well-known Sharia'h scholar.

Various financial experts, alongside Solidarity management and staff, will attend the Takaful workshop. Bassel Issam Hanbali, Head of Marketing for Solidarity added: " Our drive for the 2005 'Solidarity - Takaful Workshop' is to asses the appropriate Takaful Model in today's business by building a solid ground from different perspectives which, Inshaa'allah, will be the start of designing a universal model with benefits to shareholders and policyholders and approved by Sharia'h scholars and regulators."
