Empost partners with Consulate General of Netherlands for delivery of processed passports

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, December 06 - 2005 at 13:18
  • PRESS RELEASE

Empost, the UAE's national courier service, has entered into an agreement with the Consulate General of Netherlands to deliver passports to all clients of the consulate in the UAE, through its Jawaz service.

With this move, clients of the Netherlands Consulate General will necessarily have to avail the Jawaz service while submitting their applications. To enable customers to avail the service, applicants must purchase an AED 10 Empost sticker. The sticker comprises two parts; while one half will be pasted on to the applicant's passport during its submission, the other half, which carries a serial number, is required to be retained by the customer.

Bart Twaalfhoven, Consul General of the Kingdom of Netherlands, said, "We have learnt that Empost's Jawaz service has been very successful in other consulates in the UAE. We have been committed to offering the best possible services to our clients and to ensure that their requirements are addressed with minimum inconvenience caused to them. We process over 5000 passports a year, in addition to several consular documents. With the Jawaz service, clients can significantly reduce the number of visits to the consulate. We are pleased to partner with Empost for this service and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship."

Sultan Al Midfa, CEO, Empost, said,

"We are glad that government departments and consulates in the UAE have recognised the benefits of our Jawaz service. Empost, with its strategy to provide a range of value-added services to its customers has achieved tremendous success in the UAE. This partnership with the Consulate General of Netherlands is another step forward for us in our efforts to ease the lives of our growing customer base. Moreover, customers can be assured of the safety of their valuable documents as Empost takes responsibility in case of loss or damage of any documents."

The Jawaz service provides call center service as well as a webpage for tracking documents, which will enable customers to know the exact status of their documents anytime they want. Further, the documents are delivered to the customer anywhere in the UAE within 48 hours.

In addition to the Netherlands Consulate General, Empost has entered into partnerships with the consulates of India, Pakistan and the Philippines to deliver passports and consular documents to their respective clients through the Jawaz service.
